An Interview With Candice

How did your journey with
Relational Investment begin?

My journey began before I knew what a journey even was let alone 'Relational Investment'!

At the age of 4 ,while my friends were setting up card tables for lemonade stands, I began setting up tables where I would give 'wise advice'  to teenagers who were having struggles with their parents or significant others.  What I didn't realize, at the time, is that I had a calling to be a 'facilitator of reconciliation' that was beckoning me to dive in deep and help people get a grid for their heart so they could make a map for their life.

As I grew older, this became a cry within me for freedom fighting and to become a voice for the voiceless.

I began working with underprivileged teenagers en masse to help them identify their potential and begin changing their legacy.  I then went on to work with young ladies who had been rescued from the sex slave trade in several countries. Helping them heal from their trauma and discover their true identity, while encouraging them to begin to dream of a different future.  Witnessing the transformation of these resilient individuals has been an honor to experience.

I quickly learned that I would need to discover what it means to become a great leader myself and to raise up great leaders for this global scope of work to continue and expand beyond myself.  This began a dedicated commitment for  me to truly learn what it means to be a leader worth following.  And so the journey continues...

In order to 'fund' all of my non-profit work, for 8 years, I would intermittently take this same skill set into the business world for larger corporations where I could identify what was creating hinderance or disconnect in their relationships or interpersonal potential.   Together, with clients,  we would begin the work of internal transformation and intentional culture shift for both themselves and those they lead.  The perpetuation of 'Cultures of Honor' within these organizations continue to this day.  It has been well worth the investment of time and energy on my end.

Overtime, I found myself directing a therapeutic boarding school  for teenagers of affluent families.  That leg of the journey became
12 years  of assisting families in finding the reasons for disconnect and creating opportunities for reconciliation through a means of personal coaching, parent coaching, and multi-level family seminars and retreats.

Through the years I have found myself surprised as I work with great industry leaders one day and rescued sex slaves the next, that the human needs of relational investment have common patterns no matter where I go or who I have the privilege of serving in the world.

23 countries later, I am still discovering the beauty of humans and exploring both the complexity and simplicity of human relationships.

I have seen that beyond the desire of  making a tremendous profit or leaving a well worn path to financial success, at the core of every person is a desire to know that their life mattered and that it mattered to the people that matter to them.

I am truly humbled to be able to help people find a voice for their heart, a common language for understanding, and a culture of connection for those doing life and business together.

So what's next?

My Bond Family Moto dating back to 1250
"The world is not sufficient"...

So basically global takeover over of little card tables and small versions of my 4 year old self
at every street corner in the entire world!
Small goals I suppose. (Joking)

It is my hope to have the privilege of partnering with individuals, families, and organizations to  develop leaders, enhance culture, and empower clients to live out the honor of intentional relational legacy.
